Diet Over. Back to Grilling!

Well, the Bone Broth Diet is over. I lost a total of 16 pounds. I was hoping for 20 but 16 is good. It wasnt too tough of a diet. The hardest part was getting used to fasting and going out to mexican and not eating chips. I didnt have any beer for the 21 days so that was tough for me as well.

Something I didnt talk about on this journey is the constipation and going to the bathroom. Im not sure if it was going keto or not but it messed up my bathroom habits a bunch. Sometimes I wouldnt go to the bathroom for a day or some days I would be in there a lot. I didnt like those days. I also didnt like the low energy if gave me for running. At first i could barely run without walking but at the end I ran 12 miles no problem.

I would recommend this diet. Its not too tough and not too long. Just I really got sick of the bone broth. Switching to smoothie helped. I like those. Anyway, if you have any questions let me know. Now Im gonna get some grilling pics and recipes! Cheers!

Bone Broth Diet Day 21

Last Day!!! Woot Woot! Finally its over! Cant wait to dive in to those tortilla chips and cookies! I just need to take it easy. According to the book you need to switch to 80/20. 80 percent good and 20 percent bad. Lets see if I can do it.

Today I ran 12 miles. I didnt get tired or feel like I had low energy. It actually felt really good. I dont know if my body finally started to use my fat as energy or what but I was happy with it. I had an omelette with gouda cheese after that. Then I had some dark chocolate covered almonds for a snack. I smoked some italian sausages for dinner. I made zucchini noodles and homemade spaghetti sauce as well. That was good. I had some whiskey as well. I probably shouldnt have done that because I may have eaten some cookies. Whoops. Oh well last day.

Ill post my round of the diet tomorrow with the total weight loss and my feelings on the whole diet then ill get back to grilling!! Cheers….

Bone Broth Diet Day 20

Well. Im almost done with the diet. Couple more days to go. I think I made a mistake this day. I bought a huge bag of almonds to snack on but I keep snacking on them all day. I know some are good in moderation but just snacking on them all day, I dont think it helps for keto. Oh well we will see. Im almost done anyway. I was good except for that. I had scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast, leftover ribs and asparagus for lunch and scrambled eggs and leftover pork tenderloin for dinner. Nothing exciting happened for the day. I felt fine. Like I said just the almonds were a problem for me. I got one more day to go and Ill be happier! Cheers….

Bone Broth Diet Day 19

So good to eat again! Im so happy my last fast day for this 21 day diet is behind me! Although I think its key to this diet, having the intermittent fasting. If that wasnt done, I dont think I would have lost as much weight.

I got up in the morning and ran 5 miles. It went surprisingly well. I wasnt sure when I headed out how much energy I would have on account of the fast day I had yesterday. I did well. I was able to complete the run, slower than usual but still got it done. It felt great. I think exercising is also key to this diet, it accelerates the weight loss.

I had my omelette for breakfast with leftover pork loin in it. I went to the movies again and wanted that popcorn! But I didnt have any. I took some habanero almonds with me and it helped me get through. I read that on the keto diet that a small amount of almonds is ok. I made another omelette for lunch and had pork rinds and salsa. That wasnt too bad. Glad I could crunch on something. For dinner i smoked some ribs on the grill. I also had some bbq sauce with it. I know there is sugar in it but it was minimal so I had it anyway. I made cornbread as well because my son wanted it but I managed to stay away from it. Now the hardest part…. I wanted to try to make cookies on the grill so I did. I couldnt stay away from those. I tried one tiny, I hope it didnt through off my diet. But it was only one and it was tiny. It was so so good! Cant wait to have more when Im off this diet.

Bone Broth Diet Day 18

Last day of fasting. This was a tough day. Just wanted food so bad. The smoothies helped but by the end of the day I was very irritated aynd hangry. I cant wait to go to bed on these days. I just kept thinking to myself that it was the last fast day, I can do it. Just the strawberry smoothies all day with egg protein powder, strawberries, unsweetened almond milk and vanilla extract. I used blueberries for my last shake of the day. I had 4 cups of this smoothie total for the day. I opted not to exercise because I didnt want to waste any energy. I know its working though because I can see the difference now when I put I shirts. Not as tight. Its a good feeling. 3 more days, cheers….

Bone Broth Diet Day 17

Ive renamed the diet im on the intermittent 5:2 diet with smoothies on the 2 fast days and 0 carbs on the other five. I just cant do the bone broth anymore. Today some had noticed that I dropped some pounds and that felt pretty good. For a this Wednesday I had leftover steak with an omelette for breakfast. I bought pork rinds from the grocery store to snack on. They arent my favorite things but they will do during this diet. I had chicken breast and asparagus for lunch. Today was a run day with my running group and I felt again that I didnt have enough energy. I only ran 4.2 miles but it felt like 10. I did hill repeats right before so that might have a contributed to my low energy. Plus it was very humid out so that might be an excuse as well.

The running group decided to go to mexican again for dinner….UGH! Its getting harder to ignore those chips! I had tequila and club soda on the rocks to drink. Instead of fajitas this time, they have an egg dish with chorizo so I got that and added jalapenos. It was good but I wanted those beans and rice as well but I got through!!!… Just a few more days and I will be having those things again. In moderation if I can. Its tough. Thursday is my last fast day and I cant wait for this to be over. Cheers….

Bone Broth Diet Day 16

One of two final fast days. I made a smoothie with egg protein powder, almond milk, strawberries and vanilla extract. I sipped on this all day instead of the bone broth. Like i said i know you are supposed to do the bone broth on this diet for the fast days but I just cant do it anymore. It was a little tough to get through the day but I made it. Im so glad I have only 5 days left and only 1 of those being a fast day. I know I can do it. Cheers…..

Bone Broth Diet Day 15

I was so excited to get up and weigh myself this morning. I got up and got on the scale. 3lbs! 3lbs! Thats all I lost for the week. I was very disappointed after losing 11lbs the week before. That was the only thing bad that happened. The good news is that when I went running today, I actually felt good and I actually had the energy to run 5 miles. I had my omelette in the morning for breakfast. Since it was Memorial Day, I decided to cook out. I made some ribeye steaks on the grill. Thats all I had for lunch, a big ribeye. Then for dinner I had leftover steak with some eggs. I seem to be having eggs a lot but they are so good. And easy to cook. I only have a week left, Im pretty sure ill make it without eating one carb. Cheers…..

Bone Broth Diet Day 14

I been feeling pretty good. Still want my carbs though. The one thing that still disappoints me is my lack of energy when running, Its really disappointing. I have one more week to go and I hope this low energy thing that Im feeling gets turned around. I had my omelette for breakfast, bison burger, no bun, for lunch and another omelette for dinner. No snacks. I feel lighter but I feel like I havent lost any inches off my waste. I only have a week left so we will see at the end how this diet fairs. Cheers….

Bone Broth Diet Day 13

Well today was probably the hardest day of the whole diet. I went golfing in the morning and this was the first time I couldnt drink any beer while golfing. (tough for me) I also was nervous about what to get to eat at the turn. I ended up getting a hot dog, no bun. I know you arent supposed to eat hot dogs on this diet but I was hungry and I didnt have many options. If that wasnt hard enough, I met some friends for dinner and we went out for mexican. NO TORTILLA CHIPS!!!!!! It was so hard, I love mexican but I couldnt have the chips, beans, rice, tortillas and margaritas. Basically everything thats good at mexican. I ended up eating some spoonfuls of guacamole and queso. I got the chicken fajitas and ate just chicken and the peppers and onions with a little sour cream and salsa. I made it through but it was very tough. Chips and salsa is gonna be one of the first things i eat when Im off this diet! Cheers…..
