Ok, that title may be a little misleading. Franks Red Hot is not the worst hot sauce in the world but it certainly isn’t the best.
I was sitting here thinking of making my chicken buffalo dip and as most people do, they use Franks Red Hot as the hot sauce for the dip. I do as well. But I was thinking….Why do I have to use Franks? There are way better hot sauces out there that would be better in the dip. I don’t use Franks for anything else but that dip but that ends now. Reasons Franks is the worst hot sauce….
Its Not Hot
I always compared Franks to red colored water. Red water actually might be hotter. I never understand why some people think its spicy. There is a reason that Franks also has a “hot” version of their sauce. It is because the original version has zero heat.
I Don’t Put That Shit On Anything
Franks slogan is “I put that shit on everything”. I don’t get this slogan because if you put that on anything it doesn’t bring any flavor out the way Tabasco does or even Crystal Hot Sauce. When I taste it I say “what is this nonsense on here?” There is a reason most restaurants have Tobasco over Franks. Its because people want real taste.
I will be using Crystal Hot Sauce from now on for my buffalo dip. Not sure why I never did. I guess that’s one thing Franks is good at….marketing. I wonder what other hot sauces would be good in the dip? I understand not all people want things really spicy like me but there has to be a better way.

Vegan sues neighbor grilling meats. One of my favorite things is grilling/smoking meats in my backyard. It is one of the small joys in life. The smells and the taste of outdoor grilled/smoked meats is amazing. None of my neighbors complain about my grilling smells. However in Australia one woman is doing just that.
Vegan woman sues neighbor. A vegan woman has filed a suit against her neighbors in the Australian supreme court after complaining about the smell of meat and fish emanating from their barbecues.
Cilla Carden took her case to the Supreme Court of Western Australia, citing her neighbors’ barbecuing, smoking and children playing basketball, among other complaints, reported usatoday.com
Carden accused her neighbors of intentionally setting up these nuisances.
“It’s deliberate,” she told Nine. “All I can smell is fish. I can’t enjoy my backyard.”
Now I understand why people go vegan but I never heard of anyone vegan complain about grilling smells. This is so weird to me. I think there is something else wrong with this woman because she hates children playing as well.
A lower court threw out the case in February.
“What they are doing is living in their backyard and their home as a family,” said the State Administrative Tribunal of Western Australia.
The supreme court also rejected her claims in July, dismissing the case.
Carden had filed nearly 600 pages of documents in her appeal of the case.
“I’m a good person. I just want peace and quiet,” she told The West Australian, telling them that she intends to continue the legal fight.
Peace and quiet? I think grilling is one of the quietest things you can do. If I had to live next to this woman my head would explode. I wonder if they offered to grill some vegan dishes to maybe squash this, but Im assuming that she wouldn’t like that either. I see this getting thrown out again. Keep grilling people!
Pumpkin Spice Season!!!! Well my favorite time of the year is here! Pumpkin Spice time! I love the fall time. Autumn is my favorite season, if I could live anywhere where it was Fall al year round, I would. I love the weather, I love the colors of trees and just the over all feel of the season. Plus my birthday is on the Autumn Equinox.
I will be posting majority of pumpkin spice pics recipes and information for awhile along with other things I find interesting. I came across a recipe for Pumpkin Spice Latte Popsicles and I made a little video. Enjoy!
Son of Zombie Wing Sauce. I went to my local hot sauce store looking for their newest hot sauce. She walked me over the the “new” section. (for some reason I didn’t see it). One of the sauces was called Son of Zombie Wing Sauce. Its made by Torchbearers Sauces.
The store has a whole line of sauces by them, but this is their newest one. I have to say that the artwork on the front is very cool. A bunch of zombies on there, even has a baby zombie with a pacifier. I really wasn’t looking for a wing sauce, I wanted a hot sauce but the woman who owns the store convinced me it wasn’t just for wings. Also it says XXX Hot on it.
Pouring it on the plate for some crackers it was a little chunky. I could see the peppers in the sauce. For the ingredients, I had to take a picture of the ingredients with my phone and blow up the list. It was in very tiny font or just my eyesight is bad. It has Ghost Peppers and Habaneros in it.
I put a little on a cracker and tried it. It was really good! I definitely could use it on other things beside wings. It has their Honey Garlic sauce in it and you could definitely taste the sweetness. It wasn’t overpowering but you know its there.
As for the heat, knowing it has ghost peppers and habaneros in it and it says XXX Hot on the front, I was ready for some intense heat. I didn’t think it was that hot at all. It could be way hotter. I don’t know if its just me and I’m used to the heat of things but I don’t think so. That is my only complaint.
I will be buying it again, I want to try their other sauces as well. I feel that even though it could be used for anything, I bet its great on wings after all. Cheers.
The End Hot Sauce! Now this Hot Sauce came to me from my cousin who traveled to South Carolina and came upon a store called The Pepper Palace. It is a store with all kinds of hot sauce for the spicy-minded. They have a lot of other things like salsa and rubs but this is the first item that I have ever had from The Pepper Palace.
It contains Vinegar, Habanero Peppers, Reaper Peppers, Extract, Salt, and Xanthan Gum. Now you are supposed to sign a waiver and they are not to be held liable, blah blah. I always feel the waiver is a gimmick to try and sell more product but I could be wrong. Im not sure if it is legally binding.
I put this sauce on a chip to try it out. Just two small drops. I put the chip in my mouth and I could at first taste the heat but it really didn’t hit me. I actually didn’t think it was all that hot. But then my forehead started to sweat. That never happens to me. Then I can start to feel my tongue burning up. It felt like my tongue was enlarging on the sides. This was HOT!
The weird thing was that I was waiting for the heat to go down my throat and into my stomach but none of that happened. All the heat stayed in my mouth. It was uncomfortable for awhile but I persevered. It lasted about a half hour til the heat dissipated.
I didn’t eat it again til a couple days later. I put a drop in some homemade tacos that were having for dinner. It was hot but more manageable then having straight sauce on a chip. I also put a couple drops in some salsa and that was real good as well.
Overall, I really like the sauce and I recommend putting it in salsa or chili and just use a minimal amount. I loved it in the salsa. They call it The End because that’s when the heat is over and it takes forever to get there.
The Pepper Palace also has a contest if you put up a pick of yourself trying the sauce you can will $250. Not too shabby. Try The End Hot Sauce if you are looking for something new to try!
Scorpion Hot Sauce Guacamole! I received a bottle of Fat Cat Chairman Meow’s Revenge Scorpion Sauce as a housewarming gift. I been wanting to try it on something or in something for awhile. Even though I have no problem eating hot and spicy things, I was a little nervous about it being a scorpion pepper sauce, and with it being called the Chairman Meows Revenge, I didnt want to find out why it was called that!
I went to Fat Cats website to see if I could find some recipes that used their sauces. I was also curious of what else they made in the way of the hot and spicy world. Scrolling through the recipes, I noticed they had a guacamole recipe using the scorpion pepper sauce. It seemed pretty easy to make so I gave it a whirl. The recipe is as follows from their website.
2 Hass avocados
1 clove of garlic, minced
3 tablespoons white onion, chopped
2 tablespoons tomato, chopped
2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons lime juice
salt to taste
pinch of sugar
1-4 tablespoons Fat Cat Chairman Meow’s Revenge (depending on desired heat level)
Split avocados in half. Discard central pit and scoop flesh into a large bowl.
Add garlic, onion, tomato, cilantro and lime juice to bowl and mash everything together using a potato masher or fork until well-mashed and well-incorporated.
Stir in 1 tablespoon of Fat Cat Chairman Meow’s Revenge sauce and pinch of sugar and taste for heat. For more heat, add one more tablespoon and taste again.
Note: Each tablespoon added will increase the heat quotient one level – 1 tablespoon for mild, 2 for medium, etc.
Taste for salt, adjusting as needed.
And there it is! Scorpion Hot sauce Guacamole! It was actually really good. I went ahead and put 4 tablespoons of the the scorpion pepper sauce in it. I could have put more. It was tasty. Thanks for reading and leave a comment if you so desire! Cheers……
I got some Ghost Pepper Hot sauce. So I love hot sauce. I have it with almost every meal. I have it so much that I am almost always out of it. I have it so much that its the gift that people get me when they cant think of what to get me. Ill try it all. I dont know what it is about it but I just remember always having it. I remember being 8 or 9 and having Tabasco Sauce. I even remember my brother daring me to put it on some pineapple I had, it wasnt bad as I recall. Although I dont think Id try it now.
So Im in the store, World Market. Its an international food store. I go there to get my imported english tea. So I pick up my tea and Im walking up and down the aisles to make sure there isnt anything else I wanted. Thats when my eye caught it….. Ghost Pepper Blueberry Hot Sauce. It is made by the Bravado Spice Company.
Ive heard of this company before, I have gotten their jalapeno pineapple margarita mix. That is really good. I just had to pick this up! It just sounds so good! It was only $5.99. They had many different flavors of hot sauce at this store from Bravado Spice. Looks like Ill have to try them all!
They only problem I have is what to put it on? I was thinking it was too sweet to put on a taco or some chicken. I was looking through the cupboard and came across a box of Jiffy cornbread mix. Yes!!! I have made corn waffles before and I think this sauce would be perfect for it! I have the Jiffy mix cookbook and found the recipe.
All you have to do is follow the instructions on the back and add 2 tbs of shortening. Heres the short video I made….
My critique on the sauce….I thought it was going to be hotter. I could use some more heat. Also I thought it could also be a little sweeter. I ended up adding some honey to my waffles as well. It was ok. Im not sure what else I could use it on. Maybe try it on some pork. We will see. Anyway….thanks for visiting and let me know what you think! Cheers…..
I made the most wonderful spicy sticky smoked habanero chicken wings. I love spicy foods and I got the new cookbook by Michael Hulquist called Spicy Lovers Cookbook.
It has many wonderful recipes in it. The first one that caught my eye was the Habanero Chicken Wings. They are spicy and sweet. I changed some of the recipe to make it my own and I smoked them on the grill instead of putting them in the oven which I think makes them so much more tasty. In addition to habaneros, it calls for hot pepper flakes. I also love the soy sauce and honey thats in it as well. The recipe is as follows…..
2 lbs Chicken Wings
1 tbsp of sesame oil plus 1 tsp divided
1 tbsp of hot pepper flakes plus 1 tsp divided
Salt and Pepper to taste
2 Habanero Peppers chopped
1 tsp ginger
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup honey
Get your grill ready to smoke. Whatever kind of smoking method you use, get that ready. While thats going on toss the wings in 1 tsp of the oil, 1 tsp of the red pepper flakes and salt and pepper.
When the grill is ready, throw the wings on there and smoke til they are done. About 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
Chop the habaneros up, make sure you dont touch your face or anything else when chopping and wash your hands right after. Or wear gloves if you have to and mix them with the rest of the ingredients and toss together, thats it. Eat em up!

Baby Back Ribs are some of the easiest things to make on the grill. If you use sugar free rub then they are perfectly keto and healthy. They dont have as much meat as St. Louis Style ribs buts thats ok, they still turn out wonderful and dont take as long.
First things first. Get a slab of baby back ribs. Open the package and lay them out on a cookie sheet that will fit the slab.
Next, turn the ribs over and use a knife to take the membrane off the back of the ribs. Use a paper towel to help you do this. Just get it started, it will all come off. The reason to do this is to get the rub we are applying down in the ribs.
Next, rub the ribs with a sugar free rub to keep it keto. Any rub will do, as long as its sugar free. I use the rub I get from pitbarrelcooker.com
Next, put the ribs in your smoker or PBC or whatever you are using. I use the Pit Barrel Cooker because its very simple and the ribs turn out great. If you are using a charcoal grill, I suggest using cherry wood chips and the 3-2-1 method. You can find about that at right here.
Pull the ribs when the bones are about 1/4 to 1/2 inch exposed from the meat.
Now if you like your ribs with sauce, then put it on right after or just put some on your plate to dip. Either way if you are doing keto, make sure its sugar free and healthy.
There you have it, healthy, keto baby back ribs on the grill. If you put sauce on it, you may want to put it back on the grill for 30 minutes to set it but I dont think this is necessary, just what I think. Anyway. Until next time….Cheers.
